Just back home from spending the evening at Wing Night. It spit rain a little, but when I left the fire was roaring. Small groups were going strong and holding courts outside the ring of fire.
Man that was a fun time last night, got to meet a bunch of new people and some that I already knew. My voice is hoarse from laughing so much. What a great group of people.
" I want to know Gods thoughts , The rest are details " Albert Einstein.
We had a blast last night. Got to meet one of the nicest guys I could have ever hoped to meet. BP and I finally met face to face, well more like face to shoulder. What a hoot great times are being had I wish all of you can experience a Wingnight at least once.
Hope Kanoes is safe and warm. We are thinking about you.
Big Foot showed up and then left.
People the fire is burning and we are waiting for YOU!
Nothing better than sitting around a fire talking to a bunch of funny intelligent witty people. The jokes were coming a thousand miles an hour. Listening to JB and Suncatcher trade barbs back and forth was hilarious.JB and Sunnie, really great to meet you both .
Got to see my favorite Packer fan Trix. It was great meeting Diva,Kendra and the Killer Bs, Izzy, sleeping pad and bag, Andy G, Tony, Tuscarora Borealis and so many others I cant remember them all. Jb and Diva the two of them together are a force of nature. It was good to see Mooseplums again always great to talk to.
Can somebody remind the screen name of the Horse guy I was talking to, very interesting conversation that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Thanks to all that worked so hard to set this up, thanks to Kendra and the log splitters for the beautiful fire. Thank you Izzy for that amazing venison sandwich, that was the best I ever had, and also the smoked trout it was delicious. Its funny how fast the time flew just hanging out and enjoying good company .
I have to mention something else. I have never been lost in the bwca but I was lost totally in Rebecca Lake Park last night. I committed the sin of every male driver when I thought I knew exactly where I was going. I went in through the main entrance and drove down every legal and illegal road in the park looking for the camground. I did see something very cool however when I drove down this (authorized personnel only) road and came out into this clearing. There was a small lake area and in it were a bunch of Beautiful Trumpeter Swans, it was beautiful. Well back to my story, after I found my way back out from that detour I had to call my daughter and have her log onto this site to get me ( correct) directions to wingnight. She was giving me directions with just a little sarcasm in her voice , it was pretty amusing and (humbling).

Fun time. Jerry singing around the campfire tonight was awesome. Meeting Tremelo briefly and helping Old Scout dump is deely Bobs. Had a chance to paddle my new to me Advantage, Thx Barley. So much more made the night great! Cya next time!
The Wingnight committee is still packing up and cleaning the grounds. Folks are leaving :( Already missing people. Pictures will be pouring in I'm sure.
It was fun to see everyone. I LOVED the paddling. I got to try a solo plus and a wilderness thanks to Ben. Trumpet Swans and low flying birds with yellow bellies (swallows?) in the twilight. I wish I had pics of all the people paddling.
Jerry sang with the ladies of Diva and that was amazing too. I really like the song "Once a Week". I would love to hear a recording of it the way you sang it Sat night with Diva Ladies. Maybe on your next CD.
Bobbwca-- I envy you bought an Advantage. I loved paddling one all last summer. I fell in love with that boat. I hope your daughter thrives in the Marines. I bet you are proud of her. All the things she must have experienced as your paddle partner will serve her well.
Bellolake and Mrs Bellolake-- have a wonderful motorcycle trip this summer. Maybe someday we can have dinner at Good Thymes?
Mooseplums, Katie is a mellow awesome dog. You make a nice pair. It was good to meet you, even if briefly.
Thanks to those of you who did all the work putting it together.
I almost didn't make this Wingnight due to a sever vertigo issue. After a trip to the ER Thur. I rearranged the firewood delivery which became a tag team trailer swap between my hubby and sleepnbag to get the wood to the park. Trix reassured me my spot was reserve in the camping village. Then my (worker) B's helped me get packed. By late Friday we were rolling in and setting up in the dark. Thanks to all of them I was able to enjoy time with the wonderful people on this site again!
A BIG BIG thanks to izzy for delivering my new canoe! (FYI- take that cash I gave you for delivering it and put it toward a real GPS! Glad you toured MN on the way!) I still haven't seen the canoe yet! Rumor has it it was raffled off and ended up in sleepnbags garage!
It was great to see all the regulars and wonderful to see the Newbie Wingnighers come and join us! You are always welcome! Little Aurora, you win the "Best camper award IMO!" What a little dolly!

I pulled a kanoes! Unwittingly ran my left eye into a tree branch late friday night. Currently half the eyeball is blood red. Fortunately there is currently very little discomfort. Since I also won one of the big prizes in the raffle the next day, I guess I'd have to say there is such a thing as karma? ;-)
That said, had a great time with lotsa great people. And, FINALLY, (after many a close call)got to meet mooseplums in person. It was worth the wait! :)

Oh Jan you were missed and here's a little something you missed! Did some Dutch Oven cooking and it was somewhat successful. Chuck Wagon Stew and Pumpkin Dump Cake! I will have to make a double batch of the dessert as it was wiped out pretty fast! Yummy! Only a few know of my 'secret' ingredient!
Many thanks to all who had me laughing and smiling late into the night! Met Frenchy19 who shared his Dealy-bob's with me. That was so generous! Thank you so much! First thing my hubby said when he saw 'em was, "Wow these will work really great for lashing the fishing poles into the canoe!" :) Finally got to meet AndySG. Was wonderful to get the chance to get to know each other. Had a blast the last night at the fire late. Only those there know how I once came to be sitting in canoe along Interstate 90. lol
ALso got to meet up with Tuscarora Borealis and Vickie and of course the cutest little camper Aurora along with her big sister, ? Sorry can't remember right now. So nice to see Coriolis and Doris. Soo glad you made the trip again to see us all. Bellolake and Liz always glad to visit with you! Liz was my DO helper! Thanks so much!
Lots more new faces I got to meet, Suncatcher(Pauly) OneMatch(Jerry and his guitar-sweet!) Tremolo. Many more I hope to see again and get to know better.
Mooseplums and Mr. Barley, great to share my yearbook with ya!
Great times! Had a blast! Looking forward to Fall WN when we all will have more BWCA stories to share!
Oh and Hey, Izzy, "What kinda car"?

What an awesome time that was Friday night, Im really glad I got to meet a bunch of the bwca.com crew. Tuscarora I let you out of my sight for a minute and you start walking into trees lol. I hope your eye is doing ok. Im glad Izzy was sitting a ways back from the fire friday night, I was worried about him falling into the fire. Sorry I couldnt make it back out the next day but the Horse expo was calling and I had to help my wife out. I look forward to the fall one so I can meet some more extraordinary folks.

After a brief stop at the MM Expo, Jerry and I arrived in Springfield around 9:30 PM. A long ride but lots of laughs and great conversation to make the miles fly by. Marsha had a warm dinner waiting for us and it was great! In reply to all her well wishers, Marsha says hi and sends her love.
Jerry was off to Nashville about 6:45 AM this morning. Drive safe buddy. Let's do it again sometime.
To those I already know, and to those I met, you are the finest people I know. I felt blessed to be among you.

JB " LOL I have one, apparently Lake Rebecca is the devils triangle of gps land because mine was not getting me where I needed to be :) " LOL between you and Izzy.....you both crack me up. Plan on camping with us in the Fall, Brad. At least you know how to find us the next time. ;-)

After 1,827.6 miles (tax deductible!) I just got back in.
Thank SO MUCH to everyone who made this southerner feel welcome in the north country. I had a blast, especially playing a few songs for many of you. It was a magical moment for me around that campfire. Thank you all for letting me do that, and even enjoying it and feeding me!
Jerry
We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.
It was fun but we missed many! See you all again in the fall!!

It's just that we were so excited to finally meet you and wanted to remember you.
You definately need to stay longer next time. Hope to see you in the fall. We should have sent some "Burt's Bees" foot lotion with you. Your feet looked like they could have used some after such a long walk!

Diva & I were thinking the same thing. He was about the right height. And bFoot would not look at us when we were trying to look into his eyes. Not sure if he had any EC in his backpack. We should have checked. Our second choice was Adam. It could have been either one.

Thats Freddies traveling Red dog food dish. I was looking for it this morning when it dawned on me that I may have left it at Wingnight! If you still have it she can retrieve it this Fall.
