Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.
Quadga Lake August 2006 My Dad pulled this fish in as another fish was trying to eat it. It was then known as the 24 inch lure! The other fish surfaced with this one, wish we would have caught that one too!
It's just a small fish, but it has the significance of being the first fish Spartan1 ever caught on one of our canoe trips in our 40-year history of BW and Quetico canoe tripping. (He never tried fishing until our 2011 trip.) Kawasachong Lake, September, 2011.
Location: "Mouse Island" on West Pike Lake with one of my boys. This made his day. All caught in the span of about 30 minutes on #1 and #2 Mepps spinners in the shallows between the island and the southern shore of the lake.

Chilly HATES fishing for walleyes so I handed him a jig when we realized he needed to catch one and he would have his Grand Slam in 1 afternoon. 3 casts later he pulled up this beauty, and as you can tell from his smile, he did not appreciate our chants of "Chilly loves Walleyes.

My Nephew Jack's first trip into the BWCA. He hooked and fought this monster all on his own! "
I don't think I have ever commented on a photo in a contest before, but I think this is just fabulous! This has to be what fishing is all about!"
Thank you! This is by far one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. He can't wait to go back in for another trip...Still has the lucky hat as well!
