I prefer the feel of wood and enjoy this paddle, probably due to beginning my early paddling years ago with a straight shaft. I find this paddle very comfortable in moving water and into a quartering wind where minor adjustments can often be needed to stay on an efficient course. It is easy to power up and the rockguard on the blade tip allows me to hold the canoe steady for my Bow partner in tough landing situations. I always bring a extra paddle and this is the paddle that goes on every trip. My favorite - no - but a solid good choice and is often on sale.

I am a huge fan of wood paddles. I love the feel of a wood paddle and this paddle is my go to paddle. I carry it on all trips. I take it as a spare or my main paddle depending on the conditions. This paddle is lightweight and strong enough for any BWCA paddling. BB is a great value in quality wood paddles.
