At 6'1" this hammock is a bit short for me. Great price for a quality hammock.

i love this shelter. the larger fly i recieved with mine kept me dry in heavy rains.
during spring trips a 3/4 length roll of foam kept my under side warm.
in clear nights it was great to look at the night sky. for me it is better sleep than on the ground with no am aches on my shoulders from side sleeping on the ground.

Love the hammock. Light, quick and easy to set up, quick and easy to take down, and comfortable to sleep in. Not ideal for cold weather (minus 1 star). Weight savings can be negated by taking an extra lightweight sleeping bag. I did that by accident and it worked well. Worth buying the oversized tarp and snakeskins (which are a bit tight with the larger tarp). I stayed dry and comfortable in cold, wind, and heavy rain in Quetico first week of June. Entry is awkward but you get used to it. My gear stayed dry under the tarp as if it were in a tent. The Big Agnes sleeping bags which have the integral sleeves for a (partially) inflated pad are a good match to provide some insulation on the backside. Nice to be able to pitch the hammock on uneven ground, away from the other campers, close to the water, wherever you can find a couple trees. Take some extra rope for lashing the hammock. I advise against using their recommended lashing instructions and simply use a quick release half hitch.

I have four years under my belt with this hammock. Since I started using it I have not spent one night on the ground in a tent. The thought makes me cringe now that I know how comfortable I can be while sleeping in a hammock. The biggest downside is you never want to get out of it. It works amazingly well with my Big Agnes sleeping bag system.

I have had my Hennessy for about a year camping in weather ranging from the high 90 degrees to below 20 degrees. In summary, I will never go back to a tent. Here are the advantages that I found: no sore shoulders or back; the small packed size and weight is a big plus; no wet, muddy tent to deal with; 5 minute setup and take down. Disadvantage: no air flow due to no see-um bug netting, can be a challenge in weather below 50 degrees (but there are solutions that don't cost to much to get you comfortable down to at least freezing), need a place to hang it (not a problem at BWCA). The hammock is well made and well engineered. It does take some working with it to get it to perform. I have had it in rain on many occasions and you need to tie weight (rocks) to the ends of the rain fly since the fly stretches when wet (or you'll have the rain fly against the hammock and a wet sleep!). Just go through the information on the Hennessy website and take it out as few times and you will be set.

I've used this hammock on 2 trips now, and I think its great with just one flaw. The included fly isn't big enough for me to trust. I would have to be guaranteed a dry night, which isn't in the cards, or be absolutely protected from wind for me to trust just the included fly. Maybe I'm not setting it up properly, but the fly blows around quite a bit just like any other tarp. I've set it up under another tarp, so I've stayed dry, but I'd like to be able to rely just on the fly included for this to be a 10 star review.

Aside from the fly issue this thing is awesome. I wake up after sleeping through the night and free of back pain. These are things I haven't experienced while camping. I don't know how much of this is attributable to the Hennessy specifically, but I don't really care. Its awesome to wake up after a sleep like that. I used my Exped Synmat 7 pumped about 1/2 full and left my sleeping bag mostly unzipped and I was very comfortable all night when the weather got down to about the 50's.
