What a great pack ! Have used it on several winter trips as a day pack, and as a food pack on solo canoe trips. The capacity is just right and it carry's well.

I ordered two of these for Christmas presents for my sons. Looks like top quality workmanship. Looks like the packs will hold lots of gear. Can't wait to use them.

Bought this for my daughter to use and I have ended up using this as a daypack and or second solo trip pack. Like all the other CCS products - these are high quality, very durable.
My daughter still gets to use it too!

I needed a smaller pack for the kids and to use as a day pack so I called Dan at CCS. I went to his house and picked it up that day. Two days later was in the BW with it. It was the perfect size and very comfortable to wear. It's well made and should last many years! Thanks Dan.

We have 2 pink ones. One for each daughter. They work great as a kid's pack or as a day pack for an adult. Great product and exceptional customer service. Each of our daughters have a pack that should last them a long time.

This pack is the Bomb! Its narrow depth is excellent for fitting it in those tough little space in a canoe. The top zip pocket is very generous for holding rain gear and other quick need items.

As with all CSS gear the quality is outstanding.

Buy this pack if you are looking a good personal pack that will last you many years.

I liked the first one so well that I had Dan make me a custom rucksack with an ax and saw sleeve. I use one for gear and the second one for a food and cooking supplies and a few odds and ends.

You can see pictures of my custom rucksack in my photo journal.

Like all of Dan’s products, this pack is top notch. Thanks Dan and crew.

I ordered three of the rucksacks known as "Bushcrafter" that has two side external pouches plus a outside center sleeve for a hatchet or some other object. These were for my three kids ages 10, 9, 9. The pack torso length is obviously too long to correctly use the waist belt for the kids but I knew that would be the case when I bought them. I wanted a pack that the kids could fit their sleeping bag, air mattress, clothes, and some other items in and that they would not outgrow. This pack fits seems perfect. The shoulder straps are well made, the stitching everywhere looks great, and the quality appears very good. They look to fit my kids well yet I can also easily use the pack whenever I want. If traveling light, I might be able to stow everything I need for a short trip in this pack. I worried a bit if the pack would fit our sleeping bags since our 0 degree down bags stuff bag is about 9"x16" yet the pack dimensions are listed at 7" deep by 14" wide. The sleeping bag slid in with no trouble and I laid it horizontal. I like having the outside pouches for water bottles and other items that a person wants easy access to.

Purchased the Bushcrafter model. Excellent pack. Superior craftsmanship like all CCS products. Love the 2 side pockets. Use this as my food & equipment pack. The main compartment holds two Bear Vault 500's perfectly. Side pockets hold fuel and stove. Top flap holds tarp. The only negative (and it's not really a negative) is that the hatchet/axe holder won't fit my Fiskars X7 hatchet (the handle is too wide at the bottom). Plan on buying another to reduce some weight out of my Pioneer pack. I plan to carry one Bushcrafter, moderately loaded, with the canoe and carry the other Bushcrafter and Pioneer pack on the second trip over the portage. I would like to get 15 - 20 lbs. out of my main pack to make it manageable, which will fit well into this and then some.

My rucksack is my go to travel carry-on bag. I easily fits in the space allotted by airlines. In addition, it is a wonderful day sack for canoe trips. It's a very versatile pack.
