Trip Introduction:
This report is a pictoral essay of sorts- several years worth of trips to Sylvania and the porkies, some with just my son and some with a larger group of teenagers and family friends.
Part 1 of 3
One of my first trips to the UP was a 3 day trip to a remote cabin in the Porkies. It was what my son wanted for his 18th B-day..pretty cool, huh! We hiked into Buckshot Cabin, about 3 miles in along the shore of Lake Superior.

This is one of the nicer cabins, IMHO. It has been redone inside, and is pretty remote. Not on one of the more well-travelled hiking trails- we didn't see a single soul.

You aren't supposed to have dogs in the cabin, but I admit, I brought Cedar inside....I did sweep and mop good when we left. My bad.

The cabins have pretty nice firepits with picnic tables.
