quetico Partial Man Chain- Emerald
by Freeleo1

Trip Type: Paddling Canoe
Entry Date: 06/26/2017
Entry & Exit Point: Quetico
Number of Days: 9
Group Size: 2
Trip Introduction:
We decided to finally make it to Quetico for a change, after several trips to the BWCA. The lure of great fishing and more solitude got my husband to agree even though he was a little worried about the lack of latrines. I researched several routes before deciding on part of the Man chain to reduce the number of portages to get to some destination lakes. Since it’s just the 2 of us and we’re getting a little older I didn’t want to push too hard.
Day 1 of 9
Sunday-Monday, June 25-26, 2017 Day 1 and 2 Got to Ely after flying in to Minneapolis and getting remaining supplies in Lino Lakes. We drove up on day 2. Went to Canadian Border Outfitters and check in and picked up the 2 boxes we shipped up with our paddles, fishing poles, stoves, packs and other gear we couldn’t take on the plane. We went in to Sir G’s and had dinner and walked around the park and watched the kids practice catching fly balls. Then got frozen custard before heading back to get packed up.
