Saturday, June 23, 2018 Michigan to North Dakota

We stop at a YMCA in Superior Wisconsin for a workout and some showers. The YMCA here is 1st class and even has an indoor water slide. The lifeguard asks us, “What’s up with the haircuts boys?” The day before we left we gave each other clipper cuts down to one step away from being bald….. figured we were going to be gone for a month.

Right at the North Dakota border, one of the electric brakes on the trailer locks up at 8:30 PM on a Saturday evening. As nothing is open, a little roadside engineering allows me to disable the electric brakes and get us back onto the road. As the trailer is less than 2,000 lbs, I was comfortable that the brakes on the Ford Expedition would more than handle the flat grounds of central Canada.

Slept in a Walmart parking lot with a bunch of other RV’s and campers. Not very scenic, but it was nice to have the Walmart bathroom facilities available in the morning
