This same basic loop can start/end just west of Nelson Lake also. |

I knew I was not getting any canoe trip in 17. So my buddy and I have planned a western entry to Wabakimi. I have the lakes pretty much designated, just not the order in which we will hit them. But, we have been talking and we might experiment with a different entry. I have gone in through Smye the last couple trips. But maybe we'll try a Heathcote entry. Has anyone ever entered through the southwest end of Heathcote?? Is there a spot to park a vehicle? It looks like it might exist. Then paddle northeast across a little lake to a creek that starts at 50.201451, -90.475629. Then take that creek into Heathcote. |

Instead of turning north and going across the tracks, I am thinking head east about 6 miles to 50.201451, -90.475629. It looks like there is a turnaround there and a vehicle might be able to park there. I agree, its sketchy. If no parking, we can turn around and go up to Smye. |
