I just found out the Glen Hooper has bought out Harlan's share and plans to take over the whole shebang himself.

Glen has been the content guy and not the computer guy. That was Harlan's baby.

Good luck to Glen. Hope to see him at the WCS in a couple of weeks.

Great news that the site will keep going! Maybe hoop's new hobby will be nerdy html stuff. Perhaps he would benefit from a lesson from here and allow a few trusted folks as moderators. It can take a load off.

I see the Wintee Trekking website is for sale. I hope someone purchases it so it still exists. Lots of great info on the site.

The website was started by Harlan Schwartz and Glen Hooper.

Harlan was the computer guru and Glen was the administrator.

Harlan started Red Lake Outfitters outside Woodland Caribou Provincial Park and doesn't have the time to deal with the website, so Glen has been running it alone the last several years.

Successful, but now it has become somewhat a pain to administrate. Glen is not a computer guru, so the site hasn't been modernized and/or upgraded in the last few years. Glen has also had to devote more and more of his time to administer the site and has become weary of the time it takes away from his other pursuits.

So, it's time to move on. I hope they can find someone to buy the website. Wintertrekker has opened a whole new world of camping for me.
