When are you two going to hot tent the BW? Looks like your IA overnight went well enough. Now its time to pull out the snowshoes and skis and travel north!!

On the layering, better to stay a touch cold while doing any work than to overheat. During your IA trip in did you guys sweat a pile?

Exciting!! Big grup or just you and the boss? Who am I kidding, we all know who the boss is :)

Heading up to Lake 1/2 Feb 22 with a few lads for a couple of nights. Love how you can already enjoy the longer days. Feb in the bdub is so sweet.

Layering Video

Hey guys. I love watching this guy (Shug Emery), and he just came out with a video on clothing layering. Thought it could be useful to someone interested in more information on how to layer clothing or what to use for layers :)

Actually we are headed up to Wood Lake next week for a 5 nighter.. pretty pumped!!

For our last trip, we refrained from sweating by removing layers a lot... didn't want to get wet in the sub zeros! I just put my jacket on my pulk sled tucked under a rope, and when I wanted it again, it was right there :)

You just can't beat his mix of enthusiasm, creativity, and goofballism. Kinda like your mentor Papi!

I love Shug - but damn - he wears a LOT of clothes. If I wore everything he was wearing while hiking in and pulling a pulk, I'd be sweating like crazy in about 2 minutes.

I wear less and stay warm.

Now standing around and waiting to get in my hammock I might put on a couple more layers, but still wouldn't get to all of that.

Of course, I am a little bit of a freak that way, so maybe that's how mormal people dress. I dunno.

@OBX - ah sure I know that, my comments weren't meant to slag Shug - I think he's brilliant. I'm only saying that the fella wears a pile more of clothes than I would.

Shug always emphasizes that each of us must adjust his recommendations to fit our own personal preferences.
