We were thinking of a late December trip to John Lake on the Far East side of BWCAW. Any thoughts?

Since you will be near McFarland don't be surprised you hear a snowmobile or two. However I think it's a good idea since it should be a short haul to John. Chances are you won't have much traffic and it could be quiet as a mouse.
