I've all but quit trying to take snowshoes in recent years. Anything less than ankle deep doesn't warrant it.

I've been out a few times this year. But I've also had to try to get some time with the fat tire bike, skinny skis, and ice fishing. But here are some pics of me, my grandson, and family/friends with the snowshooz I've made. The group pics are from a couple of years ago when we were out on a day where the temp was -5, with a windchill of -25.

I wish I had some to post but we have not had enough snow down here or close by to warrant wearing snowshoes.

Look who I ran into while on a group snowshoe at Tettegouche State Park this Saturday afternoon.

bwca.com member Silverback6 and I were part of a fairly large group of folks (20+) on a ranger-guided route up the Baptism River to The Cascades. It was an incredible 55 degrees and we welcomed the opportunity to 'shoe on the river itself, rather than follow a packed-down trail in the significantly soft and sometime slushy snow conditions.

Hey, it pays to rock the Flying Moose logo wherever your adventure takes you!

Very beautiful and the air looks so fresh and clean.
Only did one Mountain winter camping trip. That was in the back country of Yellowstone Park. Peeked my head out of the tent in the morning and a little ways away stood a huge male bison. Glad he didn't decide to lay down on my tent.
Always wanted to ski back into a couple of areas in the back country and sit in some hotsprings that are not too hot,but just right.

Nice pictures,thanks for posting.

that's illegal almost everywhere in the park
and also incredibly stupid
rules are for others, let's do something cool!
"Later that day, rescuers could see portions of Colin Scott’s head with a cross necklace resting on the face and an upper torso in a V-neck shirt, By the time they returned the next day, the body had dissolved in the boiling waters, according to the report. The only traces were Scott’s wallet and melted flip-flops."

There's hot springs and than their is hot hot springs. Actually I know some that run into a river and where the two meet is just right and nothing illegal about sitting in the river.
Also in South Dakota along the Missouri river not in any park.

Yes it is stupid to seat or even get close to some of the in Yellowstone park and some areas you have sulfate gas buildup also. Yes it is illegal in much of that area.

All places are not the same. But do see your concern and wasn't even going to mention it because of a reaction I might of conveyed.

Good time, indeed. Crazy to think that next time it could easily be 50-60 degrees colder.

and, I updated my post with your correct member name here. Not sure where I got the 82...
