Luckily the bruin was probably not able to get the boys head all the way inside its jaws.
As I understand, it takes a large Bear (usually a large Grizzly) to have jaws large enough to fit a full grown human head in its mouth.
When a bear is able to do that it can often be fatal for the human.

I will not describe what occurs when that happens, I'm hoping you can read between the lines.

You would think the bear would have grabbed one of the smaller kids. Must of been hungry.

Maybe the guy and/or his sleeping bag smelled like food. It was hard to tell in the video since I don't have speakers, but it looked like the guy was sleeping outside by the fire area not in the teepees where the kids were. Could have even been laying on something that the bear wanted too. It just doesn't seem so much like the bear wanted to eat the person as much as move him. Maybe it was trying to drag him off to eat elsewhere, but I'm not positive.

Black bears are scavengers too so its also possible that it thought he was dead. Or maybe it didn't realize how big he was or that it wasn't just a head due to the sleeping bag. I'm just saying that this didn't look all that aggressive because it doesn't look like it fought back at all, at least it doesn't mention it swatting or clawing at anyone, more like an opportunity the bear saw and misjudged or it was after something else.
