Used to go that route before the Pagami fire (coming from the area of Pietro and Clearwater up to the number chain), but have heard it is a real bear, now, or perhaps even pretty much obscured. No info from this year, though. IMO: Customer should at least have a "plan B".

Thanks for the info. He starts at North Kawishiwi, does the river, goes to Gabbro and was thinking of heading north through Clearwater, Rock Island and Lake Two.
I thought it was bad idea but now I can tell him (in about 4 hours from now), to turn around & come back up the river.

I took a trip last fall and the portages from Lake Two were in terrible shape to try to get to Rock Island & so we didn't try any further.
I have a customer wanting to try to come up from Clearwater & go to Lake Two, but he leaves tomorrow morning. Told him I'd try to get some quick info for him in case anything had changed.
So, anyone been there this year? If so, what did you find?
