For Next year a full group of us are planning a 10 day paddle from Hog Creek EP36 to Kawishiwi Lake (EP37) the long way around. While passing Lake One entry point we were hoping to shed some weight (mostly carry out, dirty clothes etc) and possibly re supply items such as dry ice, clean clothes etc.
This would not require exiting the BWCA because a friend is planning an overnight paddle both entering and exiting Lake One EP. So the question is: are resupply "missions" against any rules?

Two different solo trips I dropped off garbage and grabbed a new food bag at the car. I asked a ranger beforehand and he told me as long as I didn't go shopping or something similar he didn't know of any ranger who would ticket me. I always stick to business and am back on the water in 5 minutes.

Sounds reasonable and glad to hear of a ranger using common sense.
Still, technically it's against the rue of ' exiting the BWCA'. Let's hope anyone doing bthis only runs into a ranger with the same common sense approach to enforcing the rules.

Just to split a few hairs, the landing at the entry point is outside the BWCAW. Stay in the canoe on the water - you have not left the Wilderness.
I think a few other threads have shown you can spend the rest of your life in the BWCAW on a single permit, and get resupplied.
And if I took out my dirty clothes, I'd have no clothes!

If you are 'meeting' within the BW, have the proper permits and don't exceed the 4 boat, 9 person max this is completely legal and does not break any rules.

It would not be breaking any rules that I'm aware of and if your friend is coming in anyway, why not. I don't normally think you'd need that on a 10-day trip though - the food pack will be considerably lighter, etc., but I don't normally take food that needs ice, nor more than one change of clothes. Sounds like an interesting route - I'll watch for your trip report.
