I just did my 4th trip with the folks at Sawbill. This one was just an extended stay at the campground with day trips, but the first 3 were all overnighters. I've had nothing but good experiences with them before and after the sale to their daughter and son-in-law.

I agree with everyone, Sawbill outfitters have always treated us great. Have used them many times and have gone out of their way to help us out or transport us to our entry. Glad they are still going strong. We have been going out of Ely last several trips but will be back soon.

Sawbill Lake is a special place and Sawbill Outfitters are one of a kind. When you are there you feel like family. What a fantastic way to run a business.

Sawbill campground is worth staying in by itself and there are several good routes out into the BWCA. Its a busy entrance but the area it serves is large and people seem to be able to disperse well enough.

Sawbill Outfitters is great. I have recommended them to many people and none have ever been disappointed. Glad to see them carrying on!

Great people and outfitter business. I love how they are leaders not bosses. I've had several conversations with Bill over the years and each one was fascinating. He treated you the same whether you were there for full outfitting or just browsing around in the store.

My wife and I met at the temperance river campground just down the road from there. When we went back there to camp this spring we decided to drive farther down the road. I didn't know that there was a because entry point there. We will be back in Sept for my wife's first trip into the boundary Waters.

Sawbill runs the temperance river campground too . It's a great spot, though it was busier this spring compared to other times we've been there.
