That looks like the Snowy Mountains. Here's one of my brookie lakes in that area.

Was just there. The place crash sits on the WSW side of Medicine Bow Peak. I agree- the pic looks like somewhere in the Snowies...

Nice area. I took my family to the top of Medicine Bow Peak a few years ago. My dog was a puppy, and the kids were in grade school.

I've backpacked pretty much the entire area over the years. There is an old plane crash site on top of one of those mountains that I hiked to many years ago. It was way cool. Lots of great trout fishing in all of the small lakes up there.

I love those mountains as well. I lived in Laramie in the 80's and took full advantage of the area. Taught myself how to telemark ski up there one summer. Worked at Snowy Range ski area for a couple winters. The only place I've caught golden trout.
