That looks like the Snowy Mountains. Here's one of my brookie lakes in that area.

Was just there. The place crash sits on the WSW side of Medicine Bow Peak. I agree- the pic looks like somewhere in the Snowies...

Nice area. I took my family to the top of Medicine Bow Peak a few years ago. My dog was a puppy, and the kids were in grade school.

I agree, it looks like the Snowy Mountains in the Medicine Bow National Forest of southern Wyoming. Been there many time, its a beautiful area. I've backpacked pretty much the entire area over the years. There is an old plane crash site on top of one of those mountains that I hiked to many years ago. It was way cool. Lots of great trout fishing in all of the small lakes up there.

I love those mountains as well. I lived in Laramie in the 80's and took full advantage of the area. Taught myself how to telemark ski up there one summer. Worked at Snowy Range ski area for a couple winters. The only place I've caught golden trout.
