I was planning on doing it - I've run fifteen marathons in the last few years and am a Pacer as well - but the dates didn't work for me this year. I haven't been able to find a world record for marathon while portaging a canoe, but with a 3:03 regular marathon I'm thinking I could give it a shot. I'd originally thought about approaching Northstar to see if they'd let me use a Northwind Solo in exchange for advertising the heck out of it for them. Maybe next year.

That would also be cool the hold the coarse record in portage with canoe and hopefully the race has legs and last quite awhile. You could watch and see if your record holds up.
I was surprised they have a very good turnout for the regular race and I never heard much PR about the race before.

I've also run many a marathon and entertained the idea of portaging my solo canoe for this race but the dates didn't work out. Maybe in the future?

what? no BWCA.com representation?
BeaV and MuddyFeet should think about it. They just did the 9 miles of the Grand Portage with canoe and full pack.
