Pretty funny. You T-Wolves fans will like him, he's a hell of a good player!

I've always been told never wear waders or a poncho in a canoe. You might be neutral with waders but you better have your PFD on or you'll be swimming face down if you can swim at all. Went swimming with hip boots on a time or two, on accident, good way to die.

Anyone remember John Candy when he played the host of an outdoor show on SCTV and he'd take punk rockers and hard rockers into the woods and one the water? Butler's clip reminded me a little of those skits.

Yes, air trapped in boots or hip waders could be worse than having them fill up with water. You really, really don't want your feet floating better than your head.

Edit: Ooops... must have forgot most of the bit.

Waders full of water won't pull you down. That's true. But they will make it hard to swim because when you move your legs you have to move the water in your waders too. If you are in the water because you capsized in rough water then they may still be a problem.

You have to try pretty hard to tip an aluminum canoe.

If you are going strictly canoeing, waders are not a good idea, especially if you are a new-be. Canoe flips over and the waders fill up with water, not good. No need for waders in a canoe unless you plan to get out and wade at some point. Lucky they didn't flip over in the middle of the lake.

Waders filling with water, while you are in the water, is not a problem nor a danger. They won't pull you down because the buoyancy is neutral. You might have a bit of a problem walking out of shallow water if your waders are full, however.

Did not know that. I don't think I want to test it out, I will take your word for it. Either way, doesn't sound like fun. I have walked into a hole before when wading a river during the late fall, didn't fill up the waders but took on enough water that I was done fishing for the day.

I laughed when I saw this yesterday. All I could think about was Jimmy Bulter paddling a short 60 mile day trip with the BeaV?
