Fishing seems to be hard to capture on film. Probably because you are doing it and not taking pictures. Anyhow, this is a bass from Walter Lake in June of this year. The bass and the fly are in sharp focus, the light is good, the fish looks comfortable in a couple inches of water and is at a nice angle in the frame, you can see the rasp like teeth and the rod gives it some scale. I love the facial stripes, the red eyes, the translucent fins, the camouflage vertical bars. Good stuff.

Between Shell and Heritage Lakes. This kid wants so badly to catch fish, works hard at it, will fish in any conditions and was a great canoe mate when it came to wetting a line. We were casting jigs and twister tails below the portage coming from Shell Lake. No monsters but many like this that gave us hours of fun. Now he's serving his country in the Air Force and applying that same tenacity in other areas. Great memories from the BW.
