Hey OTPiney.......Is the road open yet? We across the country need to know. Our canoes are loaded and we anxiously await the news. Thanks.

No the road isn't opened. Also Andy you might light to know the Grade 170 between Sawbill trail and County Rd 7 is closed, 12 miles. There was rain in the area and it caused the problems. Beaver dams are backing up and being blown up. The beavers are winning. After the rain and refreeze the lakes have no snow cover and are one big skating rink.

Why is the OT Box so hard for you to check? Sorry my man, I just don't understand your motives."

I first have a question before I can answer a question> Do you consider this post off topic? I 100% do not?

I agree 100% with pinetree... great info for all of us that "canoe" the Northland . I'm heading up soon without my canoe , and I still appreciate info on all areas I may venture . Pretty much "on topic" in my opinion...

I think that it's 100% on topic. Thanks for the info Pinetree. I just want to add a brief comment... I don't use Facebook, Twitter, and I don't follow any other forums on the internet. I used to follow a couple others but the posters became unfriendly and started attacking each other. I have been on this site for several years and I check it 2 - 3 times per day because it seems like the people generally care for each other. I have learned a lot from peoples posts. We all have at least one interest in common whether it be fishing, canoeing, hiking, or wilderness camping. But it's not the only thing many of us have in common. I enjoy reading posts about a variety of topics from a variety of viewpoints. If I'm not interested in a subject I don't open it. I do read about 99% of the posts however. If you were to go on a canoe trip with a friend, would you only talk about canoeing for 5 days? Or would you have conversations about many topics?
