According to the bottom of the page it says this website started in 2002.

Yeah, your browser needs to have a status bar or some place where it shows you the URL of the link you're about to click on.
Also, I'm all for planting new trees ;-)

Sorry SV It's not 100 posts for a tree.
I forget but it's something like 5, 10, 50, 250, 500 or something to that effect

It should show up on the bottom left corner of computer screen just above the icons as shown below. It only shows up when you hold mouse over name, so it is not in picture.

Still can't get a number to show up anywhere, and I have a PC.
I'd be curious to know who has a number lower than mine. I'm pretty sure Bogwalker does. Fishguts may be another. Obviously, there are 671 of them.

Could it have something to do with Javascript? My number says "Javascript show profile and then the number." Mine is 3808.

I only just now figured out that you hover over the left most tree to see how many posts. I'm close to 500....so I'll post in this thread, too!

Sorry you are right, it was a long time ago for me. I think I had 5 trees in the first month here, so hard to remember that far back.

Fishguts is surprisingly 2071, has anyone heard from him in awhile?
QPassage is about a 100 behind ya.

The flying moose is small if you had given a donation to the site in the past and a large one if you gave a donation this year. The triangle icon is for a gear review you have done. You can also click on the screen name and find out more information on the person if that person filled out their profile page.

Greetings everyone,
I noticed that whenever anyone posts or lists things, there are a whole bunch of different icons next to their username, some of which I know what they are and some that I do not. Occasionally, there are different ones that I don’t see very often. Is there a key that lists all these different icons and what they mean?
Thanks, CanoeViking

If you are on a computer, usually if you hover your mouse over an icon, it will tell you what it stands for. Must be it doesn't work that way on a phone or on a tablet, since we get this question from time to time. To my knowledge there is no key.
Looking at my post, my icons are:
Trees indicating the total number of posts I have since joining BWCA.com I have six trees and a bear paw, to indicate my 4680 posts. There is a pine cone available for really knowledgeable (or chatty) people, and I think you need to have 10,000 posts to get one of those. I don't expect to live that long. ;-)
Under your name is a little envelope. That is a link to your email address. I do not have one of those, since I have chosen to keep my email address private.
At the bottom there are three icons. The first one on the left looks like a little book or piece of paper. That stands for "Trip Reports" and is a link to any trip reports that I have published on the board. The middle one is for "Photo Journal" (another link) and the right one is an indication that I am a current donor to the board.
Hope that helps.
