It has been a long time, but I do not remember such a thing as you describe. This campsite had the big rock out front, and there was a log that connected over to the rock, so I would walk over on the log and sit on that rock to read my book, or to photograph (for example, got some really nice closeup photos of a gull one morning). It also had some very large pine trees. And I remember a lovely clearing with purple lady slippers, and wild strawberries. We stayed there for a layover day, and it was an enjoyable stay.

It was a campsite on our spring trip in 2004. I had more photos if I needed them, but I didn't expect it to take too long.

Lynda, is that the one with a tiny little island-like peninsula in front of that photo and a bit to the right? Looks familiar and I've only stayed on 2 different campsites on Alder?
