That was an incredible streak of wins the USA team put together!

I always thought that curling was like watching paint dry but in talking to a fellow who was in the military in Canada...that they did it a lot and it was great fun. It least it is safer than some of the snowboard/ skiing events.

We watched as well. They were playing with such confidence. What a great achievement.
Also watched some of the South Korea versus Japan women’s semifinal. Wow, there’s some serious talent out there.

Who watched the USA win GOLD in curling this morning? I got up at 1:30AM here in Ohio and watched the game. Didn't finish until like 4 AM. It was awesome when we scored 5 in the 8th END. So happy for Shuster!

Good for them, I missed it too. I have watched many matches this year. It is an interesting game. I played in a league when I was 20 years old. It was kind of like shuffleboard on ice, with a beer.
Side note, what on earth would a Russian Curler want to be doping for is beyond me!

I talked to a guy yesterday, he said he curled against Shuster and his daughters when they were young in a town league in Bemidji.
He said Shuster schooled his team in the championship game.

I really wanted to watch it but I just couldn't stay up for it. The first thing I did when I got up this morning was to check the results. What a great accomplishment!

Gold in curling for the Americans.....how about that! Is that our first gold in that event ever?
I missed the boat on the whole Winter Olympics. I didn't watch any of it until I seen some events at some of my clients homes and instantly regretted not having watched more. With the high def TV's it looked very engaging.

I watched the replay today with my mom. She was a Minnesota state champion in 1972 and placed 3rd in the nationals. She is 92 now but mentally sharp. As we were watching I got to hear some of the stories from those days. They used to go to a lot of Bonspiels in Canada and despite being very competitive on the ice it was always a good time with lots of hospitality after the game. I hadn't heard some of those stories before.
The 8th end was one of those that the both teams will never forget. It was really the game. Good to see the interest in the game take off.

Got a kick out of the coverage. . . .ski boarding was on with commentators discussing whether or not it should be an olympic sport. . .followed by curling. . .with no question about whether it was a sport at all!

Pretty good for a bunch of rejects. Shuster was shunned by the USA Olympic curling community and they did everything they could to keep him out of the Olympics until he basically beat everyone they had elevated ahead of him. He created his own team...qualified and the rest is history.

This was awesome. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better for Minnesotans at the Olympics this year, we get this treat! Just off the top of my head, I believe there are 20 Minnesotans on Team USA this year. If I’m counting right, 13 of the 20 are coming home with medals so far and 12 of those 13 medals are Gold. 7 gold medals-women’s hockey, 1 gold medal -women’s Nordic skiing, 4 gold medals- men’s curling and 1 bronze-women’s downhill skiing. Keep it up Team USA!

THAT is a really neat story. Maybe Clint Eastwood will take a look at it. wait a minute... not enough sex, violence, and general mayhem.

Understanding the game goes a long way to enjoying it. There is some fascination in watching but I don't really have a clue as to strategy and scoring.
I couldn't watch Cricket because I didn't understand what was going on. American Baseball becomes infinitely more interesting when the complexities and nuances are understood.
I might have to educate myself to Curling. Watching on a high def set was rather engaging even if I was clueless.

They came back from past Olympics and doing not so well and this year the first few games their accuracy percentage was so poor. WOW what a turn around and accuracy was awesome. Like all sports you it is amazing when they can go from one end of poor performance to being on the groove. It took character to turn it around. Good going.
