Heheheh, my wife has put up with me having a canoe menagerie for years and large selection of paddles. We're down to 4 canoes now, one is hers. As for the paddles, these are a few of them. This was taken years ago and there are a few changes and a couple that sit in that corner. Doesn't include the 3 in my CCS paddle bag, the two in hers, and the half dozen on the porch. BTW, heres my old Otter next to my old Wenonah Adirondack I called 'Ol Blue. Show your wife these pics, she'll co easier on YOU (LOL)!

Sorry to hear your tale of woe. I’m actually willing to sell one of our boats but my wife keeps hesitating. Fortunately we spread our ten or 11 boats around 3 states.

Vandiver has that song about 'too many boats'. Lost track of how many canoes and kayaks myself and the scouts own.... Water is still hard in nE Wisconsin

Once upon a time, I got tired of hauling my 16 ft Alumacraft and bought a composite Ranger Otter. Nice boat. She says ya gotta get rid of the Alumacraft. OK, it goes to my son's house in Hammond.
I decided I would really like a solo and found a nice Magic. So the Ranger had to go.
Sometime later, she says I never take her in the canoe any more. Ummm, honey it's a solo, you told me the tandem needed to go. So I found a nice Northwind. She conceded that one.
Won a kayak on the paddling site that runs contests frequently. So what are YOU going to do with three boats. OK, kayak's for sale (but that's another story too).
Last week I found a BB 280 cm Solo Slice for a good price. It came today, and she says, so what are you going to do with those other 4 paddles you have (2 BB loons for rivers and streams and a BB bent shaft and beaver tail for lakes)? I tried to explain that having multiple paddles is like having an assortment of screw drivers, some are large, some are small, some are for phillips head and some are for slotted head screws. They all work similarly but are suited to specific tasks. Don't know if that worked, but the "extra" paddles ain't for sale...

My wife helped me load canoe number 11 onto the trailer just last night. My only canoe problem is the two foot of ice still on the lake. Well, I guess, looking at it in actual writing- maybe having 11 canoes is a bit of a problem...
but if you have to have a problem, 11 canoes is a good one to have.

Not as many purses as shoes, but almost as many as tents or sleeping bags I have . . . :)

Ha! My wife is always asking why I need so many rods. Fortunately they are stored in my realm, not hers ("don't worry bout it")

My wife has her own Kayak and Paddle... which when added to the others equals 3 kayaks, 3 canoes, 4 double paddles (kayak and canoe), 7 single blade paddles. Variations are fun...

Early in our marriage we were in the hardware store and they had some clamps I liked. When I put them in the cart my wife said “haven’t you already got some clamps?” An older gentlemen standing close by looked at her and said in a very stern and serious voice “lady, you can never have enough clamps”. So whenever my asks a question about fishing rods, boats, etc. I just say... “they are like clamps”. Of course she has learned to use that phrase whenever the topic of shoes comes up.

I WISH I could think like that - and add one and delete one, but I'm more like Jerry's song. 6 canoes (down from 7 last year), 2 kayaks, and a pontoon. Lost a sailboat and a motor boat in divorce. Happy to keep the rest. Would add one more canoe if I find the right one and a motor boat if I could afford it.

Started with an alumnacraft with the first paycheck after college. Then we added a fishing boat. Then a Bell. Most recently we added a Wenonah. Along the way we added a kayak for our daughter, and a prism for our son. Then there is the Jon boat our son needed to bow fish carp with (at night so then he needed a generator to run lights on it). So I guess that makes 7 water craft. And numerous paddles (yes we still have child length paddles).
Oh, we also added a shed to store all the boats in.
And I am the wife, and I am ok with all the canoes.

the key to writing this song was to have my wife write it with me. Seriously. Now I can say, "but honey, you wrote in the song that there's no such thing as too many boats!" Yes, I planned it that way. :-)

Yes, I remember seeing pics of that orange one. It was a special color Mike came up with at the time. Still got it? I'm starting to miss mine.
nooneuno: "How many purses does she have?"
Actually three, Summer, winter and special occasion hand bag. She's pretty good at even getting rid of her own stuff.

Have to remember that one. Thanks.

I love that one!
So, last week I found the Bell Northstar I've been searching for (thanks, Joe). It's in my garage. Of course the Northwind had to go. But that's ok, it was a bit too large for my current needs and getting hard for me to handle. First guy to look at it took it. So we're all happy here. Just need to sell the kayak.

I know one of them has had a guy drooling as he walks into his garage everyday. Haha. I'm getting healed enough to head up Ely way soon. See doc Friday to see how things are healing.

I was talking out loud a few weeks ago about a Hobie mirage drive for local lakes, and got The Look from my wife. I have two canoes, and she has a kayak. Thought a kayak for me would be okay. Wrong.
Partially solved the paddle issue with a preference for nice looking ones. That’s our living room. The one on the right was from the kids to her for Christmas this year.

“...one is hers.” Now there’s an idea to justify another canoe! I can hear it now. Honey, I need to borrow your Bell Northwind.
