Funny picture!

I SMELLED spring this morning for the first time and my (metro area) lake had an ominous black swath across one section - the first sign of any weakness this spring.

So, despite the hail and snow coming down now, I think spring will be here quickly once that storm passes through!

great American crane count cancelled this weekend. truly yucky in NE Wisconsin this morning. Kit to reseal a couple leaky windows in the RV showed up yesterday...and ma nature is responding with wrath..... Kindof hope to paddle the last weekend on April at one of those Corp Engineer CG on the Mississippi and paddle along the shoreline and back waters...

Yep spring is here... I just heard my last sore throated neighbor kids when I called him to check my sap bags.
My trip got set back 1/2 a day... So maybe when I get home Monday I'll see spring. Fire up those lawnmowers boys and girls....

This is my backyard in central Wisconsin this morning. Ain't nothin' singing here, but if you're real quiet and listen- over the sound of distant snowblowers struggling- you can hear a couple of my neighbors crying...

It seems to be one VERY LONG corner that spring is around right now. Have another 3"-5" of snow in the forecast on Wednesday in Rochester, MN.

This isn't any fun anymore....
Had to drive 9 miles to town to check animals at office.
With the wind the visibility is really bad...wearing polarized sunglasses seems to help a little bit.
Ain't no point to move snow unitl the wind ever dies down.

My Christmas lights remain frozen to the block of ice called the front yard.

They were up for Easter and might be for Mothers Day too.

soon as I get my BWCA fix out to plow out the yard, then the office, then church. Sounds like everything shut down today government and school wise.... I wonder if this will be gone by the track meet on Thursday?

I've seen Canada geese in this area with similar expression on their beaks as they stomp on the ice at Wood Lake!

Love that trip and weather has been gorgeous the last several years, and the fishing has been good. But I didn't bargain for mid April winter camping - I am sure there is ample snow on the ground down there and the forecast sucks. This is a big disappointment. Hoping to reschedule in a few weeks, we'll see. Of course they are forecasting up to 4 inches of snow here in the TC for Wednesday this week...AAARRGGHH" I was down there 2 weeks ago. Lots of snow then. More since. :(

I've been in Denver a few times this year. They have a lot of nice weather.... And people! Nice people except when they are behind the wheel. No wonder they are making cars that drive themselves... This last trip had me chaining up just east of Breckenridge. Drove through a doosie of a storm. Denver was nice, but the winds were high and I had to keep moving. But each time I've been there I've had very nice weather. Even just before Christmas. This time I dodged the storms but still had to plow when I got home.
Lot's of snow to melt, but it's finally going fast! The lake here is very slushy. Miserable to go on. I need flip flops... I mean snowshoes with floats. But sap has finally been running.

While you wait for a response on your question, check out this weird jet stream pattern! I'm not a meteorologist, but I can't remember ever seeing one do this. I always thought it habitually flowed west to east along latitudinal lines.

not sure of your point ? this system is man made ? and yes seen this pattern before more than once,, storms have kept a circular pattern that has kind of a stalling pattern.
