My first trip ever was Isabella river to bald eagle to the kawishiwa river and had my folks waiting with big juicy stakes. I think it is a good campgrounds. But wing night in Goodland is the place to be the 6, 7 &8th. Saturday night fireworks, good food... haha.
Have fun...

My wife and I are bringing our 7 and 9 year old girls camping at the south kawihiwi campground the forst week in july. I have done almost zero research as of yet on the campground or surrounding area, as it was one of the only sites left on a holiday week. Is it on an area of the river that is big enough i should bring my small boat with an outboard or just a canoe? Any good fishing in the area that time of year? I would also be interested to hear any information on the campground, there are not many pictures on the website. Also is the area the campground is on covered on a fisher map? Im not sure how far the campground is even in the general vicinity of the bw entry points

Goodland? Where is goodland?"

About 105 miles north of Brainerd and on route to the BWCA for me.

Yes. This is a great campground. I believe you can get
Down to birch lake via the river so a boat is a good idea.

Take a right at the used car sales barn and don't miss the next immediate left. Nice little shortcut to come into Hibbing from the south... :-)
