What is your drink of choice after a hot day in the BWCA?

I'm a big scotch fan, especially around the fire at night, but I also enjoy a vodka lemonade/scratch/tang concoction.

Any recommendations?

Tang and vodka, koolaid and vodka, crystal light and vodka, vodka and an olive. I’m sensing a trend here...

Brandy and wine are what I bring in. E&J and water means you make it as strong or weak as you want.

Bourbon or scotch. I might bring some scotch and a small bag o'wine on the trip next month.

Laphroig. It tastes like the campfire, which really brings everything full circle. :)

While it wouldn't be my go to drink at home, a whiskey lemonade is what I like to drink while sitting around the fire after supper.

For many years I eschewed scotch, and other brown liquors.
Vodka and gin were my go to spirits.
This last year or so I have been introduced to some high end single malts and am pleasantly surprised.
Sipping a well aged single malt around a campfire is a joy.
Dalmore 12 yr has become a real favorite.

This year we camped on the edge and made day trips in. After a day of 90*+, a cold bottle of Sprite was like ambrosia.

I used to love grapefruit drink mix and vodka, but they quit making grapefruit drink mix powder for some unknown reason. Now I just drink vodka and lemonade. If anyone knows where to find grapefruit powder drink mix please let me know.

+1 or if I feel like splurging I may go with Lagavulin but I loves me the Isley malts!

Although not a drinker anymore. I did enjoy Jack Daniels Honey from time to time.

Another bourbon drinker here. Currently I like Buffalo Trace or Larceny. Last year I only brought a pint and it quickly ran out. Looks like a full bottle this year. Any advice for a container other than the bottle? I'm loath to use plastic and would consider a light stainless water container.

Makers Mark in my coffee round the fire on chilly nights.

Will have to try the vodka lemonade after a hot day. Guess we'll be bringing some Titos next month.

Cheers!

On a hot day I will have wine. If it is chilly, I will boil some water and make a tang and spiced rum toddy.

Back quite a few years in our youth; we would bring up the plastic bottle beers, have them on ice in a pack of ours...nothing tasted better then an ICE COLD beer around a fire.

Now its usually vodka, water and mio

Love scotch but for a mix drink it's good tequila and lemon lime Gatorade. Tastes good for a backwoods margarita.
