Check out EP6 - Slim Lake. I was a first-timer last year with a couple buddies (both seasoned BWCA guys) and our 10 year old daughters and this was an easy trip with some really good sites.

What is a good place to put in for 2 young kids, and
A first time adult. 4 people total. I have been in many times, but
want it to be fun for them, that isn't too challenging.
Ely side.
Any ideas?
Thanks

We did exactly this (took two kids and a first-timer) last year from Snowbank to Parent to Disappointment. They all appreciated the lake right at the EP, rather than a portage right off the bat. A fine time was had by all, but I'm curious to see what other suggestions surface. Hoping to get the crew up there again soon.

I think when you go will make a difference since you probably want a sit not to far in. Othello's suggestion is good if the wind is not bad because Snowbank can get rough, and Disappointment sites fill up quickly.

Lake One avoids the big water and portage to landing but also fills up in busy times.

You might consider a tow up Moose and then head along border and camp on Birch or Carp.

I would recommend EP30 in Lake One. Easy paddle for newbies/kids. If Lake One fills up which I've never seen, its not a bad portage to Lake Two and so on.
