QueticoMike: "I always enjoy reading the poems on the last page :)" I can't imagine why :) All kidding aside, they are a pleasure to read.

Yeah, that part about sight-fishing those fish on Antoine was fun reading. Kind of makes me wish it was April instead of October. :)

Read some of that article last night; left off on page 41. Didn’t realize the article was 10,000 pages long! LOL! Thought I was getting close to the end until I looked ahead. I’ll have to finish it in the next couple days.

I was thinking about his grand slam in 5 casts. I don't think it could ever be duplicated. You could be in Quetico 3 months of the year for 50 years and never do that. And to have them all be trophy quality.... that's just incredible. I think it was a 20 inch bass, 40 inch northern, 28 inch walleye and I don't remember the trout. In 5 consecutive casts. It's a story he will tell forever.

You got THAT right. I'll have to pick up some Whopper Ploppers for next year.

Yeah, I got on the Whopper Plopper train about two or three years ago, and they are incredible. I still throw the traditional poppers here and there, and there are times I've found where more subtle topwaters like spooks do better, but day-in and day-out, the WP's are the first ones I throw.
I've thought about getting some of the big dogs for spring pile fishing. I bet that would be fun. :)

Great reading and pics so far. Stu had some legendary fishing on his guided trips. A trophy grand slam in 5 consecutive casts. Very entertaining issue and my pal Jim has a nice article for us older folk.
