I saw that article and a picture. Freaky. Glad they don't sting, but sad if they're invasive. Hope the winter kills them all!!

I was talking to some people who camped in the Lynx Lake area last mid September.
They told me they saw these fresh water Jellyfish all over. Not exactly sure which lake they saw them on, just remember they mentioned Lynx. That was the first time I had heard of fresh water Jellyfish.

tg: "A coworker saw them this fall in Ruby and Hustler Lakes. Pretty neat even if they aren’t native. " Ya, I saw them in these lakes a few years back as well.

I can see the posted clip. Very cool that your buddy captured these on video. You should notify the DNR.

Yes. I can’t view the video, but more likely than not they are the invasive species Craspedacusta sowerbii which show up in their adult stage from time to time.

I saw these things on my way up to Hustler Lake this past week. At first I thought they were condoms that someone threw in the water.

Freshwater jellyfish
My buddy was up on east bearskin a month ago and made this video. Didn't know these creatures even existed.

Did he say how large these were? I think the Chaska ones were about an inch in diameter...

I once jumped in a lake and was compared to a jellyfish by someone I love. Glad to see the link is not a video of me.
