Thanks for the advise and the offer, I may take you up on it, as the northwind is the one I think I would like to have, I could detour there on my way back from NC, I'll let ya know in advance

I'm new here but not to canoeing, I'm looking for a dealer that stocks solo canoes that I can try, I dont mind paying a rental fee if need be, but want to try several, considering the Northstar solo, Wenonah Prism or Wilderness, I own a Wenonah spirit II that I solo with now and my dad has an Adorondack that I have paddled as well, so anything will be better than those, I have even run class II and mild III in the Spirit, both solo and tandem. I have taken a couple of groups down the Big South Fork, leatherwood to Blue Heron.

I have read all the info about all of these, looking at doing the Cumberland river end to end next fall when I return home and possibly the following summer through fall/winter take some me time and put in on the Yellowstone outside the park and run it and the Missouri, Mississippi, and Ohio to Old Hickory Lake, (part of the Cumberland) where my parents live. I travel a lot and have the opportunity to paddle on small lakes and streams to the big reservoirs here in TN, owning multiple canoes is not and option, can't carry more than one at a time with me and I'm gone most of the year, If any of you gents that own more solos than most dealers stock :D would like to help a feller out and let me try yours I would be much appreciated, don't mind driving a ways, have motorcycle will travel, but would rather not have to drive to northern WI or MN :D

Who would be my nearest dealer that would stock these, I head back out first of the yr, for Mexico then up to WY until I come back home right before the trip, so would like to find something this fall, would love to find a used one as well, also I'm headed to NC next month so any dealers that way also, thanks in advance, and I really appreciate the attitudes or lack of everybody has on here, just people helping people, a lot of great info.

Frontier Outdoors in Kingston carries a few Northstar Canoes or at least did so the last time I was there a couple of years ago. Looking at their website, they do not have Northstar listed anymore so not sure if they still carry them so you might want to give them a call before going. If that doesn't work out I live in SE TN (Cleveland) and have a Northstar Northwind Solo that I would be willing to let you try out. Let me know and I can meet you somewhere local for a test paddle. I also have a Old Town Pack which I recently purchased from a fellow forum member that you can try although probably a little small for what you are wanting.
