I'm coming up north this weekend and wonder if I should bring my canoe?

There is some ice on small ponds and lakes in the area, but nothing to worry about yet on water bodies of any size.

TGO (or anyone else) - what about the Cherokee Loop out for Sawbill? Other than Sawbill and Cherokee, would you consider the rest of the loop "waterbodies of any size"? I asked Clare at Sawbill Outfitters this morning and she seemed to think it was passable, with some skim ice along shores. But I also read on another thread in the "Trip Planning" tab that South Temperance had a 1/4 inch of ice a few days ago. If not this loop, how about going in at Kawishiwi Lake and going to Square or Kawasachong? My concern is most of both of these routes are shallow lakes and small waterways - which is what I like, but...

I will take my royalex instead of my gel coat kevlar. Should I have signifciant concern on either of these routes?

I’ll be on the water today, despite the wind and snow. Ice shouldn’t be a problem. Water temperatures around 44 degrees.
