Thanks for the post.

As a retired Scoutmaster I relished taking the Troop up to the BW.

Led my own Troop to Northern Tier one year (three crews) and also led several years of council contingent crews to NT with our council high adventure program. It was a very successful program all the way around.

I will always be proud of our commitment to the BSA's high adventure program at Northern Tier and am glad to be a small part of their 100 year history.

My 1978 introduction to the beauty of the BWCA/Q was through Northern Tier. Took my wife in 1979, and we've both been hooked since then.

I am taking seven to Northern Tier this summer 7/20-30 (Still have a youth spot available. Any Scouting youth out there???). The plan is to do a 100 mile trek on the US side of the border. The Charles Sommers trek isn't off the table. Main goal is to earn the Paul Bunyan award which is only offered in 2022 and 2023 for the 100th anniversary.

I've never been there in summer, only winter. I will be looking for the "Value Add" of nearly $900 more than what I charge per person for a Troop trip via outfitter.

Winter, IMHO, is a bargain.

I was active in the Scouts even after I got out of the service in 1970. I had a chance to go on a trip there with other scouters in 1970 but passed on it due to being just about broke.
