I had a great time at The Expo. The presentations were really good. Bear Paulson did a great job as did Bob O’Hare and the others. I saw Dan Cooke at Bear’s presentation and met Nathan Cooke working the CCS booth.
Owner Rod Johnson said the reason there are not as many presentations is because The U of M raised the price of the conference rooms significantly. He only rented four rooms because of this.

It was great to see people including BWCA.com member Tony.

Stop by the booth and greet Nathan Cooke, his first Midwest Mountaineering show.

I will not will to present due concerns about low point in immunocompromised position of the brain cancer treatment. Treatment has going well as expected, I have trouble formulating words, I understand normal speech patterns correctly.

Zulu: "Good to hear from you Dan! Glad recovery is going well.

I’ll stop by and see Nathan and probably buy something too.

I will miss seeing you on the grassy knoll this year!"

Took the words right off my Keyboard!

I’ll be there. I’m looking forward to BWCA.com member Bear Paulson’s presentation on paddling with his family from International Falls to his home in Chisago City.

Good place to spend a rainy Saturday. Say Hi if you see me. I’m an older guy with gray hair.

We should get together for a local paddle this summer and talk about ways to get Ben into a canoe.

Probably on Saturday. The talks I’m most interested in are end of the day Sunday though. Got a few items I need to pick up.

I used to go all three days…i think I am in gear overload now and try to stay away :)

Do they still have all of the presentations? I usually get a flyer with a list and I don’t remember getting one.

This link has everything you need.

Midwest Mountaineering Expo

The list of exhibitors and presentations seems to be way down compared to previous years, but it still looks like a worthwhile way to spend part of the day.

I'll be there likely on Saturday. Might try to catch a bit of the auction, then inside to buy stuff I don't need.

I met your son and he was great in the booth! I have a tear in my tarp, and he said you guys could put a patch on it. I will call this week!

Wondering if anyone will be at the Expo this weekend. It is not the grand event of year's past, but it still is a time to see some cool presentations and find some new gear on sale. Anyone?

Yeah, I'll probably swing through on Fri or Sat to pick up some maps and random goodies I always find when I start looking for things I don't need.

I hear you. I have not really needed any new gear for years, but I will enjoy going. And the number of exhibitors and presenters is significantly lower than it used to be, which is kind of sad. Still, I think I will be there on Saturday. Always like watching the auction.
