I know it is past August, but I have a picture I wanted to share. It was my wife's first trip and she wanted to get the perfect picture. In my opinion I believe she got it.

There is again a special reward for this months contests. Along with winning a hat, Wilderness Passages Magazine, created by long time member QPassage, is giving a free copy of their great magazine and a 2 1/2 hour DVD of Quetico footage to the winner of the photo contest and trip report contest. Rules:
- You must be signed in as a member with a valid email address in your profile to enter (or win).

I already have a photo submitted for the contest, but I thought some people might be interested in seeing this canoe. I believe it's 27 feet long and we got about 11 people in it. I had the pleasure of paddling it the past 2 years on the muddy Minnesota River.

This narrow stream was the best option to go from Hoist Bay to Good Lake. The other choice was a 69-rod, HORRIBLY muddy portage! Through most of it the channel through the rice was only the width of the canoe.
