I don't have any new uploaded pictures yet, maybe tomorrow. She made her first trip to the BWCA last weekend.

Show us your "rides"! Action shots in the BW/Q preferred but cartop or yard shots accepted. Begged, built, borrowed or stolen....show 'em! L to R Mad River Malecite...almost free at a garage sale :), needed work. Mn II, bought cheap/used, always a nice ride. SR Wilderness 18, bought used, seller knocked off $100 bucks for me to refinish his SR Huron, loves a lot of packs. Wenonah Solitude, spied on p.net, good enough deal to drive 7 hours to get it, hasn't seen the BW yet.....but it will!

The first photo is my Wenonah Argosy, which I took on most recent solo. It is 14' 6" and made of royalex.

The second picture is my Sawyer Autumn Mist. It is 14' 10" and made of Goldenglass.

And that is all the canoes in the stable.

This is a 1962 or 63 Thompson, 16'. My father bought it new for $300. He always said is was made of two layers of hard rubber with a layer of floatation sandwiched in between. Perhaps some kind of early version of Royalex?

It is on the heavy side at around 65# with aluminum gunwales and thwarts and cast aluminum endcaps. It has lived outside most of its 48 years uncovered. It has been down many rivers, a fair bit of the BWCA, and a number of trips to Manitoba and Ontario. It has a molded keel and a flat bottom. Pretty stable, not particularly fast, tracks nicely. Needless to say, lots of scratches!

It is the only boat I have and the only boat I have ever taken on a trip. I covet the light weight of a kevlar, and would like to try a solo. I am also in love with the old wood/canvas boats but I will probably just live out my days with this ol Thompson.

My stable just got a new canoe added last week. I have a Wenonah MN II, a Wenonah Advantage and I just bought a Bell Merlin. I don't actully have good a pic of my MN II apparently. And I've had it much longer than the other 2 put together. Go figure.

Bell Northwind that we purchased in 1999. Getting pretty beat-up now but she will no doubt be our last canoe.

We have a 17 foot Grumman also, and she is "retired" to our lake cottage. I cannot attach a photo because we are in Madison now at a hotel en route to the BWCA and I don't have files in my laptop with photos of the Grumman. We love her also. :-)

I'm disappointed... I expected this to more quickly degredate into something along the lines of the Twins discussion.

I don't have much action shots as I usually solo and it would involve pushing the canoe out into the water while taking pictures. Not a very good idea.

HAD to put in the Canoe Couch from Canoe Copia!

Langford Wilderness tandem we rented for our May 2010 trip - Perent Lake

"Cheap Therapy" - was a cheap canoe and has seen one trip to Bdub in it's life with us, will probably not see another - it's too darn heavy :)

Two totally different canoes. The SR Q18.5 and the Coleman RamX... Early May 2009, snowed. They are both well suited to family paddling, but I've got my eye out to replace the Coleman for tripping and lighten that load a bit. Still, it's 16 years old and indestructible. Fine for the kids to paddle :)

My baby. 1972 Sawyer Guide Special.

This was taken on a Rutabaga sponsored day trip back on May 15th. We had fantastic weather and we caught the upper dells on a Saturday before there was much boat traffic.

Don't know if it will ever make it to the BW but I'll never rule it out. It can haul a lot of stuff and moves well through the water.
