Good for you on volunteering. need more people like you.

I am sure many of those homes will have to be torn down.

Fires going crazy out west in severe drought. Some call it the once every 500 year drought and they call the floods once in 1000 years.
Either way so many extremes this year.

I spent the weekend in Denham Springs, Louisiana working with the flood relief. I'm 60 years old, worked my old ass off but that feeling is worth whatever it takes. I offered to canoe into the dangerous areas and try to help with the evacuation, they weren't real keen on that and they're probably right. Anyway, I'm back home and my tiny world is a lot better.

Very commendable Maxx. I have sent the Red Cross a donation for LA flood relief. Hoping others who cannot physically help do the same. Donate

I remember shoveling mud out of a home in college, water is devastating.

Bless you, from a current emergency responder.

Thank-you for your service, seems like we can be the un-sung heroes in today's wordly strife.
I did two rolls on the Gulf BP oil spill in that country a few years back, for six weeks total.
As with all of us first responders, listen to your inner voice.
PTSD, is lurking right around the corner in our line of work.
Keep it in check.

Good job!!
