GREAT PHOTO! Was this a time delayed photo or a combination of two photos taken at 2 different times? Just curious. Regardless, I would frame this photo. One of the coolest i've seen of the BWCA! Nice work.

Thanks. This was shot in two segments. The Milky Way exposure was 11 frames each at 25 sec with 1 sec delay. The second segment was shot 3 or 4 hours later under the light of the now risen moon without changing the tripod setup but refocused and with different ISO, f-stop and exposure settings. In post, the 11 frames were stacked using a remarkable stacking program called Starry Landscape Stacker and then blended in Photoshop with the moonlit exposure. It's a pretty complex process and my first experience with photo stacking or Ps.

A little late but just wanted to share my favorite personal photo and memory.
This is from Ledge Lake in late July of 2016, Just one of the many calm clear nights we were blessed with on that trip.

This one is from my favorite trip as we were settling in on Sawbill Lake on a calm evening with incredible background music of loons calling from different points of the lake.

Excellent photo. When I worked there 30 years ago there was no trace of light pollution along the horizon...

Thanks. You know I really wondered where that light was coming from. The light is shining from the south/south west and the only place in that direction would be Bancroft (pop. 3800), which would be at least 90 km away. While there were some clouds tucked in there that were reflecting light, could a town that small that far off be the source of that glow?
