Thanks all, we did get a parking permit from the NPS. It was pretty easy, you can just go to this link: https://www.nps.gov/grpo/planyourvisit/permitsandreservations.htm
and fill out the form (I just put in 0 nights for camping since we aren't planning on camping at Ft. Charlotte).

I used to have contact info for a lady in either GP or SB that did exactly what you are asking for. Ask the FS people or local outfitter and they may know who it is.

Give the Grand Portage National park a call and ask about parking options. I just worked with them and they were very accommodating. I got a camping permit for Fort Charolette and that helped out a lot.

Too bad the timing is off. I am doing a shuttle from Grand Marais to Crane on August 2.
You might have trouble finding a place to park a vehicle in G. P. for that long.
Check with Piragis in Ely - they will do the shuttle - it is just pretty expensive.

Hi,
My wife and I are planning a trip on the Voyageur's Highway from Ely to Grand Portage this August. We would like to leave our car at GP on August 12th (Saturday) and are looking for a ride to back to Ely on that day. Willing to pay for the service of course. Message me if you are interested.
