Looking at getting a Nils Ice Hand Auger. A 4” or 6”. Thank you.

You will love it. It is my "go-to" auger. I have several 6" of all three of the other brands in hand operated, but got the 4.5" Nils and that is the one I always carry with me now.
It drills a hole fast and I can slip most fish, (that I fish for) through.

Thanks for the reviews, guys. I’ll probably purchase new. Where have you’all gotten them from? Cabelas?

It's been a while since I've been there...... but I've seen them in the Bargain Cave or whatever it's called at the Cabelas in Rogers.

Have the 6 & 8, life changing, they simply “pull” themselves down into the ice like nothing out there. Put them on a drill when allowed and they are one light weight setup. I too would recommend buying new, the secret is that blade geometry and I’d hate to have one that might have been compromised.

Ragged, ive got the 4" Nils and really like it. Sometimes i drill up to 15 holes at a time with ease. Never had a problem getting a fish up the hole and is still pretty darn sharp 3yrs later.
