The idea is I have ZZZ canoe, and I want YYY canoe. For a test paddle, a day trip or even a week long trip. Maybe you just don't want to haul your royalex to the BWCA and I don't want to haul my kevlar to the Everglades/Adirondacks/western rivers. We've all read Airbnb horror stories. Having a prerequisite such as already owning an enthusiast-level canoe should wean off most people that aren't capable of properly caring for an ultralight canoe. There would be a "you break it you buy it" policy anyway. Gear could be included as well, just like you would get in a full outfitting package minus the consumables. I am not trying to sell, permanently trade or pay cash to rent. Ok, maybe, if it's the right Kite/Osprey, Shearwater, Magic, Northwind, Merlin, 38 Special or other solo that the outfitters don't carry. Yes, I look at all of the classifieds already. Currently I am seeking big solos to use sometime(s) in northern MN. The first 'sometime' happens to be this Friday. I have a kevlar Wenonah Odyssey, fiberglass Scott Explorer, royalex Wenonah Spirit II, layup-unknown Alumacraft and a couple others I won't mention here. They are currently spread out between western ND, eastern MN and northeastern WI. Trip suggestions are BWCA, SNF and various rivers in MN, Wisconsin river and Willow or Flambeau Flowages in WI, Sylvania in UP, Missouri/Little Missouri/Knife in ND and the UMRBNM in Montana. |
