My Dad made these for the Grumman I grew up in. There's a slot to drop the keel into so they attach very securely. We used to load shotguns, decoys, etc, and wheel, drag and float the canoe on a mud holed four wheeler track to a boggy lake. However, I seem to have access to lighter weight canoes these days and so it's time to part with these. They cannot be shipped.
I'd trade them for a 6 pack of good IPA.
