Ok, thanks. It would definitely have to be sprayed in light coats till the right amount was reached. Carefully. Don't want to trash a new $39 net. That guy on TV might have the right product. I'll have to see the commercial again.

There is a commercial fish net set out there specifically for nets of various kinds, but I can't find it at present. I know commercial fishermen and DNR fish crews use it.

Good luck.

Net Dips "Tuf-Kote" ? (One of the top search results for "commercial fishing net coating")

I have no experience with it just like looking for stuff.

Spray it heavy enough on a screen door and you don't need to bring that canoe! :-)

Just don't take the can into the woods up there with you, I don't think they are legal :)

Sorry but
It has been about 6 years, but it was type of rubberized-tar-black spray can I picked up in the auto section at fleet farm.
Wish I could help more. I sprayed it just enough to get the threads-webbing stiff so hooks wouldn't get all tangled up and fish wouldn't roll so bad. It helped alot.
I think you could overdue it and get to stiff-heavy. You could just keep spraying it until it gets the right texture.
You think you could fine one on the market now with the right stiffness?

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Sounds like Flex Seal. You could always test it with some type of similar netting at a local pond, lake or river before purchasing a net from Piragis.

I'm eyeing a Piragis telescoping fishing net. The description says black micro mesh. Not sure what that is, but my question is if it regular string mesh, can I spray it with something that would put the coating on so popular on today's nets? There's got to be something. That coating works great. Every fish is easy exit. An invention on a par with the bread slicer. Not trying to get a stupid snake out of regular mesh net with three hook Rapala half out of it's mouth that has bounced and twisted around and just made a mess out the next fifteen minutes of your fishing day. If you know what I mean. What can I use! I keep thinking of that guy on TV with a spay on coating barking at me, telling me how good it works. Anybody done it and what did you use? It would have to be applied carefully, lightly, so as not to muck up the whole deal. A small area at first.
Thanks a million.
