My go to lure on my last trip to Quetico. Get the Bad Shad color, they look like ciscoes. I fished them with my Zulu rig. They float more than a normal ShadZ, so if you want it to go a little deeper use a larger ball bearing swivel or weighted hook.

Here are a couple of fish caught on RaZor ShadZ last year.....

glad I saw this thread...was getting ready to get some new Zman plastics for June trip and unfortunately Cabelas (have a bunch of Cabelas points to use) doesn't have the scented streakz which I used last time...they do however have some of the razor shadz. Perfect timing for my order.

On my last trip they easily accounted for the most smallmouth and by the end of the week I was giving them to my trip buddies who weren't into fishing for walleye. One young guy used them one afternoon and had the time of his life on smallies.

The best place to find these lures or ZMAN scented jerk ShadZ is at www.tacklewarehouse.com.

ZMAN makes all of the soft plastic lures from ElaZtech, which is ten times more durable than normal plastics like Zoom Flukes. They last forever. I can catch 50 or more smallmouth on one lure. ZMAN makes the 5 inch jerk shad. The single tail is called StreakZ. The split tail is a ShadZ. ZMAN sells these exact lures to Strike King who renames the single tail version a Zulu and the split tail a Z - Too. I don't think Strike King sells any of the RaZor type soft plastics.

Nice color selection there. So I guess I stay with a 1/0 or even 2/0 worm hook and up to a #4 or even 5 bb spro or (ouch!) Sampo ? Weighted offsets(I assume not wide gaps) by owner? gamugatsu? What hook do you like? O guru Mike? :) .oth

You pretty much are right on with everything. You could move up a 2/0, but 1/0 still works. I have used both with the RaZors. Still not sure which is better. I have only used this lure on one trip. I was using a size 4 most of the time. Wouldn't hurt to try a 5 at times if fish seem to be a little deeper. I haven't used weighted offsets in awhile. My hook choice is usually Gamakatsu. You want a strong, thin wire hook with a sharp point. It makes a big difference, if you use lesser quality hooks you will see the hook up ratio go down.

Thanks Mike. I had badshad earmarked and as you know I love the redbone (it made a first impression in the other Zbait; maybe because of stained water). That bream looks good too. Well, they are ALL so putty Cisco fits! Thanks, oth

Hard to go wrong with BadShad or Redbone. I just make sure that any jerk shad I use has pearl in it or just all pearl.
