I think I made the right choice.......the large size in the wood duck finish. This is going to be a hoot to fish. Sort of like a large version of a Top Toad which is such a bang 'em lure. Just throw it out and reel it in. I can day dream until that noise which resembles a bathtub falling into the water startles me into reality. > "Um, excuse me, I think your up". I wonder if any salt water fish would eat themselves a little duckie? |

I bet gators would eat this thing. Ever eat gator? Pretty good if you let it soak in milk and Italian dressing for 3 days.......gets nice and tender then. |

it makes fishing so much fun, MT's duckie, Pike are awfully fond of you, Bibie-bah-doo-bah-doop! Actual field footage of MT and his ducky! |

I thought it was interesting how the Savage lure guys decided to come up with the lure. Evidently one of the lure designers kept complaining about baby ducks disappearing from his pond. Ever been out paddling and seen momma duckie with only 1 or 2 little ones in tow? Pretty common........What happened to the rest? |

I'll be fishing three or four musky lakes this summer and if my tackle boxES weren't already overflowing, I'd buy one of those duckies. I'm sure it would produce and when it wasn't catching fish, it would be a hoot to watch. |

quote mastertangler: "Hey I like to play Miss Molly.........as long as its not mean spirited its all good ;-) I also like to play! Another issue for me is strength. I had musky fever for a few years and those were sore years. Heaving those big lures hurt! So, I sold all my musky rods and now use stout baitcasting rods built for bass to reduce some of the weight, but I also avoid the bigger lures, even though they clearly work for you and others. |

I have a friend who's an English prof at Vandy and your line is just what he'd write. He too treats words like playmates. I also don't need the big tackle. I don't catch muskies big enough to warrant it. A 40-incher is a biggun for me. My biggest is 46 inches, which when caught solo in a canoe feels like a 55-incher! I did catch one from the shore once that might have been 47 or 48 inches, but I didn't want to drag it up onto the rocks, so I only got the upper third out of the water to unhook it and release it. She was a thick girl too! |

I think folk underestimate just what is prey for the fish on the shield. The duckie will take bass and pike and should not really be considered strictly a muskie lure. On Suzanette I was fishing large topwaters for pike and blasting smallies with it. At the base of the falls chain entering into Kawanipi I was fishing the Super Shad Rap and getting 5 and 6lb walleyes after they declined a regular shad rap. And how about last year on Musclow in WCPP where 12" walleyes were eating my 8" Shadzilla? |

Need some advice so you can "have your way"? .........I got 2 words for you > Massage oil. After about 20 minutes they will agree to pretty much anything.......as in "Sweetie, I was thinking of getting / doing ___________" < Fill in the blank..........(Resistance is futile ;-) |

quote shock: "WOOF WOOF , I'M A HOUND BUT MY ALPHA FEMALE SAID NO MORE , time to use new tactics , off shore accounts , maybe a CC in my son's name . HOWLLLL !" No problem, ol' buddy. I got your back. I got enough lures that if we're ever fishing the same lake and you lose your last one to pike or rock, I'll be happy to sell you whatever you need.* *Naturally, at a 700% backwoods markup with $99.99 backwoods processing fee. |
