Hey Mike - what is the color that you use called? I think you said it was grey/pearl belly but was curious of the exact name so I can order some up.
Also, any other different patterns?
Thanks! Tuna

ZMAN ShadZ ( scented jerk bait ) - I think the color is called smelt now. Strike King Z Too is the same exact lure if you can't find any ZMAN ShadZ in that color. I think they are called smokey shad. Any lure with a pearl belly is a good one, along with just all plain pearl. Blue\pearl, Green\pearl (baby bass), Bad Shad, Redbone, are all good colors. Let me know if you need help finding something.
If you get the ZMAN RaZors, get the Bad Shad color.

I use a quality ball bearing swivel, mostly size 3 and 4. 8 to 12 inches of mono line leader, unless I am in a jagged, rocky area, then I use white fire line for the leader. My hook setup is different than most people who use soft plastic jerk baits. I do use Gamakatsu hooks as well. I like a strong, thin wire hook that penetrates easier than the thicker diameter hooks. I use a 1/0 worm hook, no EWG hooks. The 1/0 worm hook stays flush with the lure which helps it keep a natural look, along with a more natural movement. An EWG expands outside of the bait, looks less natural, and acts like a keel, preventing the lure from easily moving in the side to side, walk the dog, dying flutter type action. I have seen no reduction in my fish hooking ratio by using such a hook compared to the larger EWG hooks.

You da man, thanks Mike.
And just to clarify, you're using just a hook and a ball bearing swivel 12" or so up the line?
I'm a big fan of Gamakatsu G-Lock hooks and usually use a 4/0 with my flukes. I like the second smaller bend in them so I don't have to skin hook the point. What kind of hook do you use?
