Although I am starting to like the "no bugs" August time frame more and more if I had to pick a week I like the 3rd week of June unless it falls on the full moon (I like 1sr quarter).

Seems like everything is still "on" but the walleyes would probably be chowing down rather heavily. What do you think......say 10 ft at dawn and dusk and 20 to 25 after about 10 a.m? Probably starting to gravitate to reefs by now?

Last trip I did around that time (it was 6/26-29, to be exact), we tried every depth, time, and bait imaginable. Finally started catching walleye in 5 FOW near a weedbed, using crawlers. We were drifting right along the edge of the weedbed off a point. From the 5' ridge, it dropped down to about 12' pretty quickly. We caught them from about noon to 3pm. Next day, exact same thing. Along with the walleyes, we also caught perch and northern.

I don't normally go this time of year. I usually go Memorial Day and August.

Is anything especially hot at that time?

Any specific tips or ideas?
