Just got back from Basswood a week ago. Great fishing, no problem finding smallmouth. Our group got 5 in the 4 lb class, and probably 30+ under. Smaller bass were caught easily with leech/hook combo in 2-8ft. Bigger ones took crank baits trolled around islands and points in 15-20 ft. Color or size did not seem to matter, but my best came on a silver f13 as did many walleye. Fishing was just as productive on moose/newfound/sucker as it was on basswood.

Heading into Basswood in a couple days. Anyone have updates on how the smallies and northern are biting? Are the bass bedding yet?

They're doing good on Walleyes, but don't think the Bass are going to spawn this year with the cold water.
What a dirty shame!! :)

That's interesting -- is the water both high and cold, or just colder than usual?
